【摘要】:1.1*Scope.Thiscodeappliestothestorage,handling,transportation,anduseofLP-Gas.A.1.1GeneralPropertiesofLP-Gas.Liquefiedpetroleumgases(LP-Gases),asdefinedinthiscode(see3.3.36),aregasesatnormalroomtemperatureandatmosphericpressure.Theyliquefyundermoderatepressureandreadilyvaporizeuponreleaseofthepressure.ItisthispropertythatpermitsthetransportationandstorageofLP-Gasesinconcentratedliquidform,althoughtheynormallyareusedinvaporform.ForadditionalinformationonotherpropertiesofLP-Gases,seeAnnexB.FederalRegulations.RegulationsoftheU.S.DepartmentofTransportation(DOT)arereferencedthroughoutthiscode.PriortoApril1,1967,theseregulationswerepromulgatedbytheInterstateCommerceCommission(ICC).TheFederalHazardousSubstancesAct(15U.S.C.1261)requirescautionarylabelingofrefillablecylindersofliquefiedpetroleumgasesdistributedforconsumeruse.Theyaretypically40lb(13kg)andlessandareusedwithoutdoorcookingappliances,portablelamps,campstoves,andheaters.TheFederalHazardousSubstancesActisadministeredbytheU.S.ConsumerProductSafetyCommissionunderregulationscodifiedat16CFR1500,CommercialPractices,Chapter11,"ConsumerProductSafetyCommission."
