【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesapredictionoftheresistancetostablepropagatingpittingcorrosionofstainlesssteelsandrelatedalloysinastandardmedium(seeNote1).TheCPTtestcanbeusedforproductacceptance,alloydevelopmentstudies,andmanufacturingcontrol.Inthecaseofproductacceptance,thesupplierandusermustagreeuponthepreconditioningofthespecimenwithregardtosurfacefinish.Thetestisnotintendedfordesignpurposessincethetestconditionsacceleratecorrosioninamannerthatdoesnotsimulateanyactualserviceenvironment.AnothermethodtodeterminethepotentialindependentCPTwithanelectrochemicaltechniquehasbeendiscussedintheliterature(1-4).Thistestmethodinvolvesapotentiodynamic(potentialsweep)procedureperformedonspecimensatdifferenttemperatures.Acomparison(2)ofthetestmethoddescribedinthistestmethodandthepotentiodynamictechniquehasindicatednodifferenceinthetestresultobtained.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedurefortheevaluationoftheresistanceofstainlesssteelandrelatedalloystopittingcorrosionbasedontheconceptofthedeterminationofapotentialindependentcriticalpittingtemperature(CPT).1.2Thistestmethodsappliestowroughtandcastproductsincludingbutnotrestrictedtoplate,sheet,tubing,bar,forgings,andwelds,(seeNote0).Note0ExamplesofCPTmeasurementsonsheet,plate,tubing,andweldedspecimensforvariousstainlesssteelscanbefoundinRef.().Seetheresearchreport.1.3ThestandardparametersrecommendedinthistestmethodaresuitableforcharacterizingtheCPTofausteniticstainlesssteelsandotherrelatedalloyswithacorrosionresistancerangingfromthatcorrespondingtosolutionannealedUNSS31600(Type316stainlesssteel)tosolutionannealedUNSS31254(6%Mostainlesssteel).1.4ThistestmethodmaybeextendedtostainlesssteelsandotheralloysrelatedtostainlesssteelthathaveaCPToutsidethemeasurementrangegivenbythestandardparametersdescribedinthistestmethod.Appropriatetestpotentialandsolutionmustthenbedetermined.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.1.6hisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
